CONFORM - Consulenza, Formazione e Management S.c.a.r.l. has been working since 1995 at national and international level, promoting and implementing important research projects, training plans with innovative classroom and e-learning formats and solutions, providing consultancy and technical assistance to companies and the Public Sector, with the support of expert personnel and a consolidated team of trainers, consultants, professionals, managers and entrepreneurs, bearers of successful experience.

The University of Salerno (www.unisa.it) with about 45,000 students, 1,000 Professors and 100 degree courses is one of the most important universities in the south of Italy. According to a research developed by the “Il Sole 24 Ore”, one the most important financial newspapers in Italy, the University of Salerno is ranked 15th in the Italian University ranking and is the first one in the South of Italy.

The mission of the University of Salerno is to carry out research and educational programmes, developing links with the surrounding area while respecting the environment, with the aim of creating, enriching and, at the same time, offering a scientific, cultural heritage to students, enterprises, institutions and in general the whole community. In keeping with this mission and core values, which are a constant reference point, the institutional goals are as follows:

Research, Teaching and Education, Support for outstanding students and for those with special needs, Development of the Campus as a community of individuals who share the same interests and values, Development of links with key players in the local area.
Inside the University there are 16 Departments.

In particular, staff from the Department of Industrial Engineering will be part of the project. This Department received the EUR-ACE label, a certificate awarded by an agency authorised to a HEI (Higher Education Institution) in respect of each engineering degree programme which it has accredited.

EUR-ACE is a framework and accreditation system that provides a set of standards that identifies high quality engineering.

The research activities carried out by the Department have focused on several research lines. The mainly significant contributions for the project have been given in the area of Knowledge Management, ‘Context Aware Computing’, ‘Affective Computing’, e-Learning.
